Room With a View

I awoke this morning to this magnificent view out of our bedroom window.

I just love to look at God's creation when it's draped in all that fluffy white stuff. (Note: the operative word in the previous sentence is "look".) I do not like to be out and about in this fluffy white stuff. This morning I opted to drive Olivia to school rather than have her ride the bus because I was meeting The Hens for breakfast. (HENS = Honoring, Encouraging, Nurturing, Sisters in Christ! Upon driving Olivia to school, twice I almost skidded into another vehicle. The roads were very slick. Today would've been a good day for a 2-hour delay start time....however, since our school district needs to have five feet of fresh snow on the ground and white out conditions before they call a snow day...we were outta luck. I had to deal with the roads. I'm grateful to the Lord for keeping us safe and for clearing the way when I had to steer the van into the oncoming traffic lane to avoid hitting the vehicle in front of me.

By the time breakfast with The Hens was over, the roads were perfectly fine. Great -time to go shopping! ...And all is well in my world. At least until I realized that the Christmas shopping overdrew our checking account and I had to make a mad dash to the bank just minutes before they closed in order to make a deposit to cover my spree! Oy Vey!

I should've just stayed in and enjoyed the view!

He spreads the snow like wool
and scatters the frost like ashes.
-Psalm 147:16

Your eye for artistic things just amazes me. You really have a talent there. (which is good since driving with a pitiful little smattering of snow doesn't seem to be your forte) Those pics are wonderful...think I'll go look at them again...hugs...

Beautiful pictures of your back yard, Deb. Wish I had a view like that! Love reading your blog. It's fun reading about you and Dawna on here. Take care.

I wouldn't want to leave either! All it takes in Texas to close the schools is about 1" of snow! Seriously, no one knows how to drive in the stuff and despite cancellations of work, and school or even delay times, people who don't have to be out, are out causing accidents! Thankfully, you avoided any accidents!

How are you feeling? I posted a Gum Drop update.

Dawna...I can drive just fine in the snow, thank you very much. Bring on a bunch of snow --watch me drive. It's the ice that I can't handle. Yesterday --ice, ice and more ice. So there.

Looks just like the view out of my window....NOT!
I would never want to get out of bed if that's what I woke up to each morning. I'd just have my coffee in bed and stare out the window. Must be grand living in a state park.

You asked about "Battlestar Galactica" over on the 4 things Meme. We are hooked on that show!

It's the new version with Edward James Olmos as Admiral Adama and Mary McDonnell (Stands With A Fist from "Dances With Wolves") as Presdent Laura Roslin.

Myself personally, I like it much more than the 1970's version with Lorne Green. Richard Hatch (original "Appollo") is on the new show as well.

This is the final "season" starting up in January. It was abbreviated last year due to the writer's strike.

In fact, I like the show so much that I have a bumper sticker on my car that reads,

ROSLIN/ADAMA 08
"Humanity's Last Hope"

Tee hee!
