Trojan.Virtumondo or is it virtomundo?

My computer has ONE NASTY BUG!

I can't get online (I'm using Brillo Man's computer now.)

I can't save any files to any external drives.
(which means if I wanted to reformat the hard drive to get rid of the virus, I can't save any photos or documents beforehand to avoid losing them forever. (There goes TONS of photos of my family, friends and my art...again)

None of our spyware/virus fix software is working to eliminate this bug.

I'll say it again. Ugh.

I'll be absent from blogging until we get this resolved!

So sorry Deb! I'm getting myself a flash drive to save my photos on for just such occasions. Ugh!

Oh no...not again. I don't think I've ever known anyone with worse computer luck than you Deb.

I went through the same thing with my computer, there was no saving it. The trouble with saving your photos and stuff to a flash drive now is that you may contaminate the flash drive and ultimately recontaminate the computer. I had Best Buy save all my photos and info to a disk.
I finally had to buy Anti-Virus
36o remover software. That's on top of my regular antivirus software-but it did work. Good luck!!

WOW! I think the people who create and distribute these things should be punished in the here and now and here after as well! I mean seriously, why would anyone think this is okay to do to other people?

Oh Deb, I am so sorry! I have been through this and know the aggravation, frustration and just plain anguish it causes. It took me months to get copies of old family pictures that I had stored on my hard drive. I learned my lesson though. I put everything on a disc or a thumb drive now. Praying for you sweetie!

Many hugs..........

I'm so sorry. I lost tons of photos when my last laptop crashed and had some sort of something or other..never did figure it out, just that it was unfixable. So now we duplicate on Dave's laptop as well, I just email him all the photos as I download them..oh and I also make discs when I get a bunch of pics. It's a lot of duplication but worth it. So sorry you're going through this.

ps..Lori you resemble Deb SO MUCH!

Hey Deb ... sorry to read about your pc problems ... what a mess!!! And to think someone maliciously sends our viruses is such a crime. I hope you get the problem fixed ... and soon!

If you open up a Kodak account (should be free I think) ... you can upload your photos to their site and not worry so much about any that might get ruined on a crashed pc.
