Today We Meet Him....

....who is "him"?, you ask.

...a PUPPY who may be joining our family soon!

Not sure....still have to meet the puppy and his breeder...but I have to tell you that I've fallen in love with his picture already! I won't post his photo here as I haven't asked the breeder's permission, although I'm sure she wouldn't mind.

I'll save his picture for the day (if and when) everyone decides that we may adopt him and bring him home. We need to be approved by the breeder because any respectable breeder isn't just going to hand over their beloved puppy to anyone who comes along.

I've spent HOURS searching the internet, talking to friends and coworkers, scouring the pet classifieds and doing tons of research on breeds. We have narrowed our search to several breeds which we believe would be a good fit for our family: Miniature Schnauzer, Yorkshire Terrier, Shih-Tzu, Bischon Frise, Toy Poodle and Cairn Terrier. All of them are known to be hypoallergenic, although I don't imagine that there is such a thing as a completely hypoallergenic dog. Some breeds shed less than others. Our beloved Chauncy was a shedder! Hair everywhere! All the time! And me...I did a lot of sneezing and wheezing!

The little guy we're going to meet this afternoon promises to be a breed which doesn't shed as much--and is good with children --a HUGE consideration where Olivia is concerned!

Olivia is already thinking of names!

I'll keep you posted!

We had Miniature Schnauzers for years...Max and then Gus. They were wonderful dogs, no shedding and my dear friend Nina who was allergic, could actually visit with no problem. She was amazed that she didn't leave here plugged up and snorting!
Happy Doggy intro' day!!!

I'd go with a Labradoodle if I could pick any breed. I love Labs, but don't have the space for one. [you do though!] I'd like a minature apricot poodle too. Anyway, I hope it works out, I know Olivia would love to have her own puppy! David has been asking for one too. [not going to happen though] We have had Cocker Spaniels for years and they have been great [we're on our third one!].

Happy poop patrolling!! [that's always Mom's job!] Course, you can just train yours to go out in your woods!

Enjoy!

My neighbor has schnauzers who we less then affectionally have named "the yippers". Trish's schnauzers were great little dogs though, I guess it depends on the owners and how they manage them.
No more dogs for us till we're so old that they dog will probably out live us. It's to hard to say goodbye when their short lives are over. They provide so much unconditional love, they just need to have longer lives!
Have fun with the puppy of your choice! Can't wait to hear the name!!

All I can say is "are you out of your mind" They require grooming and you have to board them when you go on vacation. You know how I feel about Baylor. I like his alot but I can never go very far for very long because he needs tending to. You better think long and hard because the novelty soon wears off.

the benefits outweigh the novelty. :) except when they chew up everything :) The benefits are great ... except the heart ache when they pass on ... but they give such love that it makes it worth it.
wv phedleck ...that's the name you were thinking about for your new puppy ... I just know! ;)

What a sweet little boy he is! (Yes, I have seen picture) My little Teddy Z is the light of my life and Olivia seemed to be warming up to him. Wonder if our boys will be best buds too? Hope so. The name Herbert T. Erskine keeps running through my mind. Herbie for short. Now pick yourself up off the floor and grab a tissue cause when you laugh that hard, your nose snots. Hugs...

Congrats on the possible newest member of the Erskine clan! We had friends who had a Yorkie but he didn't do well around kids, could've just been him. His name was "Divet", get it. The hub was an avid golfer and he looked like a piece of turf!

My BIL & SIL have had Cairns and absolutely LOVE them! They were great family dogs! Sadly she just had to have Miss Buffy (almost 15) put to sleep but my BIL just got her 2 new puppies, both Cairns!
