Peace

artwork copyright 2006 D. Erskine

We've searched for it like pilgrims through faithless days
We've hoped for it to come like rain and fill our empty souls
We've waited for it like a miracle to turn our world around
But until we look beyond ourselves it will not be found

Peace on this side of heaven
Peace where none is given
In a world that's so demanding
We all need some understanding
Peace when the road's uncertain
Peace when a soul is hurtin'
We ache for it
And we pray for it
But only on our knees will we find peace

We long for it through busy days and sleepless nights
We've wished for it to stem the tide of chaos in our lives
We've dreamed of someday reaching it a lost and distant hope
But until we put our Savior first
we will never ever know

Peace on this side of heaven
Peace where none is given
In a world that's so demanding
We all need some understanding
Peace when the road's uncertain
Peace when a soul is hurtin'
We ache for it
We pray for it
But only on our knees will we find peace

Lord calm the waters on our troubled seas
'cause only by Your power
Will we ever receive

Peace on this side of heaven
Peace where none is given
In a world that's so demanding
We all need some understanding
Peace when the road's uncertain
Peace when a soul is hurtin'
We ache for it
And we pray for it
But only on our knees

We ache for it
And we pray for it
But only on our knees will we find peace

Beautiful words!
Beautiful painting, is that a painting of the state park which you call home? You talents never ceases to amaze me.
I'm hoping this means your computer problems are fixed, I'd hate to think of you lurking around the library everyday - just waiting for some kid whose doing his homework to get off a computer!

Computer fixed. :)

No more lurking in the library...

Not a painting of our property --just something from inside my head somewhere.

The lyrics are from Kim Boyce's CD - As I Am --don't know the author...
