Now you're all scrambling to type that into the dictionary to check the meaning.... go ahead. admit it. You had no clue what it meant.

Neither did I.

....oh the things I find to amuse my mind on a slow Friday evening in the laboratory....

Here's the definition I found:
--a variety of the beet Beta vulgaris, cultivated as food for livestock.

YUCK - vulgaris is right!!!!
I HATE BEETS!! I had to miss the state fair in Indiana when I was 3 because I didn't eat my beets!!! My Mom busted me throwing them in the trash and trying to say I ate them!!!! HA HA - she had to stay home and watch me!!! LOL
